It started back when I was a teen… the year of Star Wars, 1977. A time when tourism in NYC was more like a season of survivor urban style. Rotting to its core, the idea that a slogan could help save the city and still be around some 35 years later must be every ad man’s dream. Today it is the unspoken mark of the tourist, but it is also so much more. It is ubiquitous and it is NYC. Because as NYers we all have those days when we really do .. love ny.
it is even in the trash beneath our feet in Queens…
For several years now I have been using … i love ny… as a window into what makes us the same and yet so different in this city. So whenever I get a good group together I will be posting here.
