And now for the characters of the day, I love parades and holidays that encourage people to participate in the celebration. Saint Patrick’s Day is certainly one of those as everyone’s Irish is on display!
It is also one of those few days when men in skirts (ok, kilts…. manskirts) are not an unusual sight. A good lesson in why pants were probably invented in the first place.
And as in so many celebrations in New York CIty, the celebrants also include those intent on spreading their word, whether it is applicable to the event or not.
The stars of the show!
The one day a year when it really is easy being green, but I can’t imagine it was quite as easy yesterday once the parade was over and the green wasn’t.
Another side effect of the bitterly cold day. The usual Saint Patty’s.. errhmmmmmmmmmmm drinking and lack of dress (there is that a nice way of saying it)? was tempered by the soul-sucking winds and there were far fewer bits of bare flesh roaming the streets as in past years.
The year of the mustache… can we all say enough of this trend now?
And finally.. selfies for EVERYONE.. you take a selfie, I take a selfie, They take a selfie…
Tomorrow is National Macaron Day! Free Macarons for EVERYONE!
